Back up Snap before you need a recovery
Snap keeps shop records on your computer. A copy on the same computer cannot protect you if that computer is lost or its drive fails.
01 / Choose a quiet time
Sign in with an account allowed to manage backups. Finish the current sale and ask other users to stop working before maintenance.
02 / Open the backup controls
In Settings, find the database backup and restore controls. Export a database backup and wait for the download to finish.
03 / Keep a separate copy
Copy the downloaded .db file to a separate, protected drive or your approved backup location. Keep more than one dated backup.
04 / Check before restoring
Confirm the file and date. Restoring replaces the current shop database with the selected backup, so records created after that backup will not be in the restored copy.
05 / Test recovery with support
Before moving to a replacement PC, arrange a recovery check and confirm licence transfer requirements. Verify products, sales and repair records after restoration.
