Choose software around the way your shop works
A practical comparison of a single-computer setup, cloud workflows and the questions to resolve before you switch.
Start with the work, not the plan name
Write down a normal day at your counter: receiving stock, selling an accessory, taking a repair, accepting a return and closing the day. Ask a vendor to demonstrate those tasks. A long feature list does not show whether your staff can complete them clearly.
Decide what you need to identify
Quantity stock records how many units of a product you hold. Serialized stock distinguishes individual devices. If warranty history or margin per handset matters, ask to follow one device from receiving to sale. Snap and Elite are positioned for quantity-based inventory; Pro and ERP advertise individual IMEI and serial tracking.
Choose where the work happens
Snap is a single-computer desktop product with local shop data. Cloud plans serve different online workflows. Ask what happens when the internet is unavailable, which tasks remain usable, and how the exact edition handles recovery. A general claim of offline support does not answer every one of these questions.
Compare the complete commitment
Separate the software charge from hardware, setup, migration, training and support. Check whether a displayed price is one-time, first-year or recurring. Pro has a first-year price and a different published renewal price. Request the full quotation before comparing costs.
Finish with an acceptance checklist
Try your printer, inspect a receipt, check a stock adjustment and follow a repair. For a move from another system, agree the records that will transfer and how totals will be reconciled. Keep an original backup. Select the product only after the essential tasks and remaining limitations are clear.
